OPM hitmaker Maki enters a new chapter in his acclaimed “pink era” as he teams up with singer-actor James Reid for the first time on the heartfelt new single, “luck.”
Released under Tarsier Records, “luck” blends alternative and indie-pop influences, comparing the uncertainty of falling in love to placing a bet where there are no guarantees, only the hope that taking the risk will be worth it.
Maki co-wrote the track with an impressive lineup of international songwriters and producers including Gaby Ramirez, Pontus Kalm, Greg Shilling, and Shintaro Yasuda. Their combined credits span collaborations with global artists such as Ariana Grande, BTS, LE SSERAFIM, aespa, and BINI.
The song also continues Maki’s evolving “pink era,” which began with his previous release, “habangbuhay pansamantala.” Through each release, he continues to build a vibrant and emotionally resonant musical world that explores love, vulnerability, and self-discovery.
Fresh from bringing his KOLORCOASTER tour to Indonesia and Singapore, Maki introduced international audiences to fan favorites including “Dilaw,” “Namumula,” and “kahel na langit.” During his Indonesia stop, he also appeared on the country’s popular comedy show “Lapor Pak!”, showcasing not only his music but also his charm and personality to a wider audience.
