Kapuso Soul Balladeer Garrett Bolden showcases his signature vocal grit and energy with “Mamang Sastre,” his latest single under GMA Playlist and the official theme song of GMA’s primetime action drama series The Master Cutter. The track is now available on digital streaming platforms worldwide.
In collaboration with Pio Balbuena, the The Clash alumnus delivers an upbeat, high-energy track driven by an infectious rhythm and a strong message of justice and resilience—perfectly complementing the series’ intense narrative.
“Honestly, I feel like Mamang Sastre is more than just a song about a tailor,” Garrett shares. “It’s about someone who can see what’s wrong, what’s broken, and dares to fix it. The tailor in the song represents people who stand for truth and do what’s right, which is also why I think it’s a perfect fit for The Master Cutter.”
The song’s themes mirror the journey of Anthony “Atoy” Padua, played by Dingdong Dantes, a highly skilled scout ranger who seeks a quiet life as a local tailor while secretly working as a man-hunter and tracker-for-hire.
For Garrett, the heart of the track is anchored in the powerful line, “Sa mali, ikaw ang huling tama.”
“Simple lang siya, pero ang bigat ng meaning,” he explains. “It reminds us that even when everything feels chaotic, there’s still value in standing your ground and choosing what’s right. It has upbeat energy that keeps you engaged, but at the same time, the lyrics make you reflect on what’s happening around you.”

He also highlighted his admiration for Atoy’s character, particularly when he uses his skills and disguises to help others and bring positive change to the community—echoing the song’s core message of using one’s abilities and voice to make a difference.
The Master Cutter follows Atoy’s journey as he rebuilds his life after the tragic loss of his girlfriend Elaine (Max Collins) and attempts to reconnect with his father by taking over their family tailoring business. However, his path takes a dangerous turn when he becomes entangled in a case that could change his life forever.
Directed by Dominic Zapata, who also penned the lyrics of “Mamang Sastre,” the series features a strong ensemble cast including Joey Marquez, Polo Ravales, Boobay, Ketchup Eusebio, Rio Locsin, and Sparke artists Charlie Fleming, Prince Carlos, and Anthony Constantino.
The formidable Regalia family is portrayed by Tonton Gutierrez, Max Eigenmann, Michael Roy Jornales, and Paolo Contis, with additional performances from Jo Berry, Shuvee Etrata, Sienna Stevens, and Max Collins, alongside Dingdong Dantes in the lead role.
Produced by GMA Entertainment Group under the leadership of Officer-In-Charge and VP for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, AVP for Drama Ali Nokom-Dedicatoria, Program Manager Dennis Bentulan, and Executive Producer Nieva Magpayo, the series is backed by a creative team headed by Creative Director Aloy Adlawan and Head Writer Angeli Delos Reyes-Delgado.
This week on The Master Cutter, the stakes grow even higher as Atoy dives into a dangerous underground search for a missing girl, uncovering online dating traps and a suspicious local punk band, while buried family secrets in Tabang Lupa begin to surface and Audrey edges closer to the truth about the elusive Master Cutter.
The Master Cutter airs weeknights, Monday to Friday at 8:15 p.m. on GMA Prime, with streaming available via Kapuso Stream and GMA Play. Global audiences can also watch via GMA Pinoy TV.
