OPM indie band Nameless Kids and singer-songwriter Cesca team up for “mental,” a playful pop collaboration that explores the messy emotions of moving on while becoming curious, and a little too invested, in an ex’s new partner.
Written by Nameless Kids’ Nhiko Sabiniano and Cesca during a songwriting camp in Davao in 2024, “mental” puts a cheeky spin on the familiar experience of wondering who has taken your place after a breakup. Its catchy pop production and relatable lyrics transform post-breakup fixation into a lighthearted song about the things people sometimes do when they are not quite ready to let go.

The track’s lyric video is now available on YouTube, while “mental” is also streaming on digital platforms.
“mental” follows Nameless Kids’ recent releases “temporary,” “sinungaling,” and “kuha mo na,” which will be part of the band’s upcoming album.
Since debuting with “Outlaws” in 2020, Nameless Kids has established its presence in the indie OPM scene through its distinct sound and heartfelt songwriting. The band released its debut EP “Shoes out the Door!” in 2021, followed by songs including “Sayo (Ang Mundo)” and “Gabi,” both of which have surpassed three million Spotify streams. In 2023, the group released its first full-length album, “Manila in Bloom,” featuring tracks such as “Hotel Runs” and “Bukas Na Lang.”
Cesca, meanwhile, continues to make her mark in the OPM scene with her mellow melodies and emotionally driven songwriting. Her releases include “Lovesick – Pagmahalasakit,” while her 2022 debut EP “Travel” has accumulated more than 20 million Spotify streams. She later released her sophomore EP, “Balse ng Gabi,” which features a collaboration with Maki on its title track.
Earlier this year, Cesca returned with “I’m Nilalamig” and “Lovesick (Mas Pinasakit),” further showcasing her signature approach to heartfelt pop.
