The stage adaptation of the acclaimed Filipino film “Die Beautiful” is getting closer to its theatrical debut, with tickets now available for “Die Beautiful: The Musical,” opening June 11, 2027, at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell, Makati.
Based on Jun Robles Lana’s award-winning 2016 film, the musical brings Trisha Echevarria’s story of friendship, chosen family, identity, and self-acceptance to the stage through an all-original musical score.
Maxie Andreison and Viñas Deluxe will alternate in the lead role of Trisha, while Lance Reblando and Chamyto will share the role of Barbs, her fiercely loyal best friend. Joining them are Audie Gemora as Patricio Macapagal, Trisha’s father; Karylle as Beth, her sympathetic sister; and Esang de Torres as Shirley Mae, her adoptive daughter. During the closing of About Us But Not About Us, Edward Benosa was introduced as part of the cast of Die Beautiful: The Musical. He will play Migs, Trisha’s crush, a role portrayed by Albie Casiño in the film.

The casting of Reblando and Chamyto continues the legacy of Barbs, a beloved character previously portrayed by Christian Bables in “Die Beautiful” and Martin del Rosario in its spin-off, “Born Beautiful.” Reblando recently played Julia in PETA’s revival of “Walang Aray,” while Chamyto currently appears as Bambi in GMA’s primetime series “The Master Cutter.”

Written by Jun Robles Lana and Elmer Gatchalian, and directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio, the production reimagines the story of Trisha, a transgender woman whose final wish is to be transformed into a different celebrity every night of her wake. With Barbs determined to fulfill her friend’s last request, the story celebrates living beautifully and authentically. During the press conference, it was announced that the storyline would feature an update. While the film focuses on Trisha’s experiences in the beauty pageant scene, the musical will explore the world of drag queens.
“Die Beautiful: The Musical” will run from June 11 to July 18, 2027, with performances from Fridays to Sundays. The show runs for approximately two hours and 30 minutes, including an intermission, and is recommended for audiences aged 16 and above.
