As the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge reached the Philippine soil, Kapamilya celebrities and personalities headed by ABS-CBN President Charo Santos Concio, Kris Aquino, Korina Sanchez, Anne Curtis, Lea Salonga, Sandara Park and Vice Ganda stood up and accepted the challenge to raise awareness on the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement that is also known as the Lou Gehrig’s disease. The said motor neurone disease has affected certain numbers of Filipinos already at the same time most in US and UK.
Aside from the individual participation here are the accomplishing of the challenge as a couple or love team showing their support to the spreading of the awareness.

The ALS was characterized by muscle spasticity, rapidly progressive weakness due to muscle atrophy, and difficulty in speaking (dysarthria), swallowing (dysphagia), and breathing (dyspnea). With the said campaign it gives everyone the chance to pass on the awareness on ALS and at the same time have a few seconds of feeling what a person with ALS feels which is numbness in all parts of the body. With this everyone can really push on the campaign not only with the ice bucket challenge but also the possibility to donate on the organizations that support the research that will find cure and prevention of the said disease.
