Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises – Movie Review

Finally it’s here, the most anticipated finale of the Dark Knight trilogy of Christopher Nolan who is the writer, director, and producer of this epic Batman film. With The Dark Knight Rises now showing in all cinemas nationwide that is available in IMAX and regular format it will offer a once in a lifetime movie experience to each movie goers both Batman enthusiast and not the story on how Nolan reinvents some the characters that we saw before in other Batman movies, TV series and of course in the comic books.

Being it is a Nolan’s work the film will not be as glossy and bright unlike in the film which I really enjoyed the texture that suggest how the people in the Gotham City embraces darkness which is very prominent from start until the end. Aerial shots give the feeling that each movie goer is a witness in the destruction and downfall of Wayne and Gotham City.

With Nolan’s reinvention of primary characters like Selina Kyle, Bane, Batman/Bruce Wayne and most of the characters that will be revealed in the film it gives a new taste in the story and it worth offering to new and old Batman followers. Anne Hathaway who did the Selina Kyle (popularly known as Catwoman) gives justice to her character that was once played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Hally Berry. With the reinvention done in the character of Selina Kyle it offers a new Hathaway that is beyond romantic comedy that she always do in most of her film, now she’s more powerful and fierce and a new story in the life of the Catwoman.

The Dark Knight Rises is not the same with the rest of the Batman film or the other two Dark Knight movie of Nolan, it is more of a narrative film that has a lot of explaining and visuals rather than arm combats that are common in most of superhero films. Others it can be boring having 70-80% talking and 30-20% action but seeing it in a perspective where this is the struggling journey of wounded soul of Bruce Wayne hoping to regain his dignity as Batman along with the rest of the characters it is pretty good establishing of the characters that will lead to so many revelation that everyone will be amazed on their seats asking I hope this is not the finale.

The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Morgan Freeman. It is now showing in all cinemas nationwide, available in IMAX and regular format and distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.

70-80% talking and 30-20% action.. parang boring nga.

at di ata maganda ang madidilim na movies sa 3D.

well iba kasi ang run ng story it’s not boring with that length of narrative approach versus the action scenes kasi it will explain the changes and reinvention of the characters and also di sya available on 3D
