Seafood 8 by Olio’s officially opened its doors with a grand celebration at The Lagoon, Gateway Mall 2 on September 18, introducing a fresh take on Filipino dampa dining in Araneta City. The restaurant combines fresh seafood with eight signature sauces, giving diners the opportunity to enjoy familiar seafood favorites with globally inspired flavors.
The grand opening featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Araneta Group Chairman, President, and CEO Jorge Araneta; Singaporean food and beverage executive and World Kitchens founder Andrew Tan Hock Lai; and Seafood 8 Company and Culinary Director, Australia-based Chef Oliver “Oli” Buenviaje. Also joining the celebration were Binibining Pilipinas International 2026 Gwendoline Meliz Soriano, Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2026 Sasha Lacuna, Binibining Pilipinas 2026 1st Runner-up Raine Antonio, and Binibining Pilipinas 2026 2nd Runner-up Tracy Mae Sunio.

Guests enjoyed a curated dinner featuring some of Seafood 8’s seafood offerings, including Baby Pusit with garlic confit and aged soy, Tanigue Ceviche with yuzu and nahm jim, Pacific Oysters, Halaan Tinola Soup, Dover Sole Meunière, Branzino al Sale, Fresh Tiger Lobster with calamansi hollandaise and chili supreme XO sauce, and Tuna Belly with miso den and Latin chimichurri sauce. The menu also included Tinapa Fried Rice, Gamberetti Spaghetti Pasta, and Coconut Panna Cotta with calamansi leaves granita and mango gel.

The evening continued with a celebratory toast featuring cocktails, highballs from the Whisky Bar, wines from World Cellar, and an assortment of canapés.
Located at The Lagoon in Gateway Mall 2, Seafood 8 by Olio’s brings Chef Oli Buenviaje’s seafood-focused culinary concept to Araneta City.
