Streaming on Prime Video in more than 240 countries starting October 5, catch a different character portrayed by Kim Chiu in the star-studded Dreamscape Entertainment Inc. series “Linlang.” This is Kim’s second project streamed exclusively on Prime Video; her first is the family comedy series “Fit Check: Confessions of an Ukay Queen.”
In ‘Linlang,’ she will be joined by Paulo Avelino, JM de Guzman, Kaila Estrada, Ruby Ruiz, Jaime Fabregas, and Ms. Maricel Soriano.
‘Linlang’ takes us on a journey with Paulo’s character, Victor Lualhati, a boxer who ended up choosing to become a seaman, hoping he can provide a better life for his family. He didn’t know that his wife, Juliana (played by Kim), drifted away from him after an accident that tested their relationship, ultimately leading her to betray him.
Apart from his wife, Victor is facing relationship issues with his family: his stepmother, Amelia (Maricel), and stepbrother, Alex, causing him to feel inferior within their family.
In contrast to the usual roles Kim has played in her rom-com projects, including her bubbly character on It’s Showtime, her role in ‘Linlang’ is significant, involving a web of lies that will ensnare everyone in a life full of betrayal and misery.
FM Reyes and Jojo Saguin, the directors of the series, shared that they are amazed by the entire cast, especially Kim, who kept a journal to document her role and what she learned from it, along with areas she needed to improve, especially while working with a powerhouse cast.
