In line the much awaited 85th Academy Awards (Oscars) on February 24 (Feb 25 Manila Time), the committee officially appointed Seth MacFarlane as the host of this year’s prestigious event. Seth is a actor, voice actor, animator, screenwriter, comedian, producer, director, and singer who is behind the success of Family Guy, Ted and other animated shows including Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, Dexter’s Laboratory and I Am Weasel. The 85th Academy Awards will be held in Dolby Theatre (formerly known as the Kodak Theatre) in Los Angeles.
According to the producer of Oscars Craig Zadan and Neil Meron that they are thrilled to have Seth MacFarlane host and with performing skills it will blend perfectly with their ideas for making the show entertaining and fresh.
MacFarlane’s Family Guy has earned him two Emmy Awards and 13 nominations. Meanwhile, his Ted has brought in over $420 million worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing films of the year.
