Netflix has unveiled the main poster and trailer for The Scandal, giving viewers a closer look at the highly anticipated Korean period drama ahead of its global premiere on September 18, exclusively on Netflix.
Set in the Joseon era, The Scandal follows Lady Cho (Son Ye-jin), a brilliant and unconventional woman, and Cho Won (Ji Chang-wook), a notorious playboy, as they enter a dangerous wager that soon draws Hui-yeon (NANA) into their increasingly complicated game.
The newly released poster brings the three leads together against the backdrop of Bukchon, the center of Joseon’s elite society. Lady Cho commands attention in a striking crimson coat, while Cho Won gazes into the distance with desire. Hui-yeon, meanwhile, appears solemn beneath her traditional head covering, hinting at the different emotions and motivations that will bring the three characters together.
The main trailer begins with a secret letter from Lady Cho to Cho Won, introducing the wager at the heart of the story. Lady Cho challenges Cho Won to seduce So-ok, a young woman destined to become a concubine in her household. Cho Won responds with a challenge of his own—to win the heart of Hui-yeon, a virtuous young widow.

As Cho Won pursues Hui-yeon despite her resistance, Lady Cho observes their encounters from the shadows. What begins as a seemingly playful challenge gradually turns into a dangerous psychological game as emotions intensify and the boundaries between manipulation, desire, and genuine affection begin to blur.
A modern reinterpretation of the classic tale Dangerous Liaisons, The Scandal combines lavish period visuals, a compelling love triangle, and a star-studded cast led by Son Ye-jin, Ji Chang-wook, and NANA. The series is directed by Jung Ji-woo, known for his distinctive approach to character-driven stories.
The Scandal premieres globally on September 18, exclusively on Netflix.
