Star Cinema’s latest romantic drama, “Always Yours, Never Mine,” is taking its love story beyond Philippine cinemas, with lead stars Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto set to headline special screenings and meet-and-greet events in London and Madrid.
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, the film opens in Philippine cinemas on September 30 before rolling out internationally beginning October. It will screen in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Australia, and New Zealand starting October 22; the US, Canada, and Guam on October 23; the UK and Austria on October 31; and Spain, France, and Italy on November 1.
Joshua and Julia will personally join European audiences for special screenings in the UK and Spain. In London, they will meet fans at Genesis Cinema London on October 31 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., followed by special screenings and meet-and-greet sessions at Palacio de la Prensa Cinema in Madrid on November 1 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
“Always Yours, Never Mine” follows Apollo (Joshua) and Luna (Julia), whose lives cross paths at different points over three decades. As they find their way back to each other, every reunion brings a new choice that shapes the lives they build and the paths they leave behind.
Joshua sees the film as a chance for audiences to pause and simply enjoy a story they can connect with. “Feeling ko kailangan natin ito, yung mga ganitong entertainment. Kailangan nating huminga, I think ito yung hinga natin. I hope maraming maka-relate at makasabay sa characters nina Apollo at Luna,” he shared.
For Julia, the film explores the experience of loving someone whose feelings may not be returned in the same way. She described its central idea as “your willingness to give your heart to somebody else who can’t give theirs back to you.”
Following its Philippine release on September 30, “Always Yours, Never Mine” will continue its international cinema rollout throughout October and November. Tickets are available through myTFC.
