Visa (NYSE: V), a global leader in digital payments, has launched Visa University, its global learning platform designed to advance payments education and build the next generation of leaders in banking and finance. The platform combines Visa’s deep industry expertise with real-world global and regional case studies, offering specialized courses on payments and payments technology for banking and finance professionals in the Philippines.

Visa University aims to enhance professional development and strengthen industry capacity by equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the rapidly evolving payments landscape.

Led by Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA), Visa’s advisory and analytics division that helps clients address challenges and opportunities in payments and commerce, Visa University recently held its inaugural forum at the Asian Institute of Management. The event brought together more than 100 participants from banks, fintech companies, merchants, and other financial institutions.

The forum covered payments fundamentals and emerging trends in payments technology, including agentic commerce and risk solutions, providing attendees with practical insights into the future of digital payments.

“The rapidly evolving payments landscape requires leaders who are curious and agile, while being strongly grounded in fundamentals. Through Visa University, we are investing in the development of future payments talent to help strengthen the resilience of the Philippine payments ecosystem. By equipping professionals with the right skills and knowledge, we aim to support the country’s ambitions to build a more inclusive, innovative, and secure digital economy,” said Jeffrey Navarro, Visa Country Manager for the Philippines.

Visa University complements VCA’s strategic advisory services for banks and financial institutions. During its inaugural forum, the platform offered foundational courses covering key payments topics such as issuing, acquiring, and credit card profit-and-loss management, tailored for early-career banking professionals.

Previously, Visa University partnered with globally renowned business school INSEAD to provide local banking executives with training on emerging payments innovations. Looking ahead, Visa University is exploring partnerships with local higher education institutions and professional organizations to broaden access and develop customized courses and learning modules that address the evolving needs of the financial services sector.
