As Philippine theater continues to flourish, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) unveils one of its most anticipated productions of 2026: Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 4: Oh Sht! It’s Live Sa Cheter!*, a bold, satirical stage evolution of the iconic franchise.

Headlined by Eugene Domingo, the fourth installment marks the series’ leap from film and digital platforms to live theater, continuing its tradition of sharp cultural commentary. Since its 2011 debut, Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank has grown into a multi-platform satire—first lampooning the indie film industry, then mainstream rom-coms, and later historical revisionism in the digital age. This time, it turns its lens on Philippine theater itself.

Playwright Chris Martinez describes the work as a reflection on the state of local theater, while director Maribel Legarda emphasizes the power of liveness in storytelling, where performance becomes immediate, risky, and transformative.

Arriving amid what many call a “golden age” of Philippine theater, the production both celebrates and interrogates the industry’s growth, using comedy as a mirror to examine its strengths and contradictions.

The show features Eugene Domingo alongside a powerhouse cast including Melvin Lee, Andoy Ranay, Meann Espinosa, JC Santos, Stella Cañete-Mendoza, Joshua Lim So, and Marlon Rivera, supported by a large PETA ensemble and creative team led by Legarda and Martinez.

Structured as a play within a play, Septic Tank 4 blends satire, meta-theatrical humor, and live performance energy to blur the line between reality and fiction, offering audiences a witty yet reflective look at theater-making today.

Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 4: Oh Sht! It’s Live Sa Cheter!* runs for 50 shows from June 19 to August 16, 2026, at the PETA Theater Center.
