Prime Video has announced the return of The Grand Tour, with the six-part motoring series premiering exclusively on September 4. The new season ushers in a fresh era for the franchise with internet personalities Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman, and Thomas Holland taking the wheel.
Joining forces for the first time, Bourgeois, the popular train enthusiast and self-confessed petrolhead, teams up with Engelsman and Holland, the creators behind the hit YouTube automotive channel Throttle House, as they embark on a series of high-octane adventures across the globe.
“Since completing the filming of the series, I haven’t stopped replaying every moment in my head,” Bourgeois shared. “It has made me laugh, made my heart race, and made my stomach turn. It feels as though it was a dream, but knowing we will get to share our adventures soon makes me so incredibly excited!”
Engelsman teased the challenges the trio faced throughout the journey. “We took on the West African desert. We contended with fighter pilots. We even decided to challenge an entire nation’s legal system by protesting from the mountaintops. In doing so, the three of us learned our true strength: how to accept defeat gracefully.”
For Holland, the experience was as unpredictable as it was unforgettable. “I figured someone would be there to hold our hand the whole time. Nope. We were on our own in some absolutely wild environments in very, very questionable cars. When you watch in September, expect a good laugh, and maybe a few butt-clenching moments.”
The new season sees the trio tackle some of motoring’s most unusual and entertaining challenges, from driving track cars across the harsh landscapes of the Angolan desert and immersing themselves in Malaysia’s thriving automotive culture to testing cutting-edge performance cars in California.
