Now on its 6th year, the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) is opening the doors of their Liwanag Park who want to have photos taken with the giant Nativity Scene, ride the mini train where there’s a Christmas three at the middle and even enjoy some products at the bazaar. The Liwanag Park of Meralco was officially opened to the public last night after the lighting of the Meralco Parol that was placed in the middle of the main building of Meralco located at the Ortigas Avenue in Pasig City.

Present at the lighting ceremony were Manny V. Pangilinan and Ambassador of Light for Meralco Shamcey Supsup. The Liwanag Park will be open to the public until January 6. Visitors can drop by at the venue and enjoy the place between 6-10pm only.

To make the campaign bigger, Meralco partners with the Department of Tourism headed by Secretary Mon Jimenez and Local Government Units (LGUs) including Antipolo City,  Batangas City, Malabon City, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Pasig City, Pateros, Quezon City, San Juan, Taguig City, Angat, Baliuag, Bulacan, Plaridel, and San Rafael in the Province of Bulacan, Bacoor and Carmona in the Province of Cavite, Baras, Jala-Jala, and Binangonan in the Province of Rizal, Cabuyao, Nagcarlan and Pila in the Province of Laguna and Dolores in Quezon Province. Each area receives 500 boxes of Chrismas lights and a giant parol where they can design their own Liwanag Park in their respective areas.

Aside from that Meralco will be having their Maliwanag ang Pasko contest again where they invite everyone to send photos of themselves with the Christmas decors via the Meralco Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/meralco). For every photos uploaded, it will help Meralco to reach out more public schools in Palawan, Bohol, Quezon and Dinagat Islad. So celebrate Christmas in a brighter way with Meralco.
