But Red Crown is not just for hardcore pageant fans. Directed by Dominic Zapata and written by Kit Villanueva and Ken de Leon, the film is a full-throttle comedy that takes audiences into the hilariously intense world of pageantry, where the competition is as fierce behind the scenes as it is onstage.

Set against a world of dazzling gowns, killer walks, and fierce competition, Red Crown explores the stories, rivalries, and personalities behind the pageant spectacle. Audiences can expect plenty of laughs, unexpected twists, and a competition where everyone has their eyes on the crown.
The film features an impressive lineup of real-life pageant queens and Sparkle stars, including Yana Aduana, Alethea Ambrosio, Ara Arida, Herlene Budol, Skye Chua, Faith da Silva, Michelle Marquez Dee, Haley Dizon, MJ Encabo, Shuvee Etrata, Gazini Ganados, Rein Hillary, Maika Kemmochi, MJ Lastimosa, Aira Lopez, Sanya Lopez, Ahtisa Manalo, AZ Martinez, Ashley Ortega, Vanessa Peña, Sandy Riccio, Jade Tecson, Tarah Valencia, Yna Angela Uy, and Yza Thalia Uy.
The film’s first promotional phase was designed to make “Queen of the Islands” feel like a real pageant. It included official social media accounts, candidate posters, behind-the-scenes videos of rehearsals, a list of pageant sponsors, and even a special pageant presentation attended by members of the pageant press and content creators.
GMA Pictures promises that the crown chase is only beginning, with more cast members and details about the film’s story set to be revealed soon.
