2TinCans Philippines, Inc. presents Stay a Little Longer, an original full-length drama written by Sarah Mae Enclona-Henderson and directed by Shifrah Bouchikhi-Enclona, on August 29 and 30 at The Kabilin Center.
Part of KULUKABILDO II: Stories in Direct Light, the play explores memory, identity, and the enduring power of love through the story of HER, a woman whose memories move fluidly across different stages of her life. As childhood, adulthood, and old age intertwine, those closest to her must decide whether to hold on to their own reality or enter hers with compassion.
Rather than portraying memory loss as disappearance, Stay a Little Longer presents it as a different way of experiencing time, asking a poignant question: If memory fades, what remains of who we are?
The production stars Sarah Mae Enclona-Henderson as HER, with Charlene Virlouvet, Shiella Pestaño-Gemperoa, Rio Delizo, and Jonathan Tad Tadioan. Stage management is by Benjun Yu, while production design is by Louie Carlo Basalo.
For playwright Sarah Mae Enclona-Henderson, the play examines how memory loss affects not only the individual but also the people who love them, encouraging audiences to value presence and empathy over certainty.
