Rising singer-songwriter Jarren Garcia takes listeners on an emotional ride with the release of his debut extended play (EP), “LUVBOMB,” a seven-track project that reflects his growth as an artist and his most authentic musical expression to date. Alongside the EP, Jarren also unveiled the official music video for its lead single, “Runaway” (Taglish Version), now streaming on the ABS-CBN Star Music YouTube channel.
Inspired by the many emotions that come with love, “LUVBOMB” showcases Jarren’s signature R&B sound while highlighting heartfelt stories that resonate with today’s listeners.
“It’s about pouring all your love and effort into that one person. I’ve poured my heart and soul into making this EP. I can confidently say this music is more me—it’s more Jarren,” Jarren shared.
Leading the seven-track release is “Runaway,” which is available in both Taglish and English versions. While the Taglish version comes with an official music video, the English version is accompanied by a lyric visualizer, giving fans two unique ways to experience the song.
Jarren said he intentionally crafted “Runaway” to fuse an international R&B sound with the emotional storytelling of Original Pilipino Music (OPM).
“I also want to connect with Filipino listeners. That’s why most of the songs are mainly in Tagalog. We chose ‘Runaway’ as the key song because it has that international sound, and making it Tagalog also helps keep it rooted in OPM,” he explained.
Before the release of “LUVBOMB,” Jarren introduced fans to his evolving sound through the singles “GOTCHU” and “Pinaka Pretty.” The EP also features “Tatapatin,” “APK (Ang Pahinga Ko),” and “Pinili Kita, Pero,” with each track exploring different stages of love, longing, and vulnerability.
The release of “LUVBOMB” was made even more memorable by the unwavering support of Jarren’s fans. In celebration of both the EP launch and the second anniversary of his fan club, supporters organized a free ride initiative across Metro Manila, where four modern jeepneys offered complimentary rides to commuters while playing tracks from the newly released EP.
The creative activation reflected the growing community behind Jarren and introduced his music to even more listeners, turning an ordinary commute into a celebration of OPM.
With “LUVBOMB,” Jarren continues to establish his identity as one of the country’s promising young artists, blending contemporary R&B influences with relatable Filipino storytelling that speaks to the highs and lows of love.
