Convenience has become one of the biggest drivers of dining decisions today. As Filipino consumers increasingly seek restaurant-quality meals that fit their busy schedules, off-premise dining channels such as drive-thru, takeout, delivery, and mobile app ordering continue to gain importance across the quick-service restaurant industry.

Recognizing this shift, Mang Inasal is strengthening its off-premise business through expanded drive-thru operations and enhanced digital ordering capabilities, making its signature Ihaw-Sarap meals more accessible to Filipinos wherever they are.

“A major growth area for Mang Inasal is our off-premise business as consumer behavior continues to evolve toward convenience, mobility, and digital ordering,” Mang Inasal president Mike V. Castro, shared.

To support this growing demand, Mang Inasal has invested in multiple customer access points, including drive-thru stores, self-order kiosks, takeout windows, digital payment systems, and the recently revamped Mang Inasal App. These initiatives build on the brand’s efforts to provide customers with more convenient ways to enjoy their favorite meals beyond the traditional dine-in experience.

Expanding access through drive-thru and provincial growth

Mang Inasal currently operates eight drive-thru stores nationwide, offering customers another convenient way to enjoy its grilled favorites.

For Mang Inasal, its drive-thru expansion is not simply about opening more locations but about bringing the restaurant closer to customers and making its offerings more accessible.

At the same time, provincial markets and emerging cities remain key areas for growth.

“Provincial and emerging cities are an integral part of our network expansion efforts as we make accessible to more customers our Ihaw-Sarap meals and further reinforce our positioning as the country’s Grill Expert,” Castro added.

The continued expansion reflects Mang Inasal’s commitment to serving more Filipinos while adapting to changing dining habits and lifestyles.

Bringing Ihaw-Sarap beyond the dining room

One of the company’s key learnings in recent years has been the growing acceptance of grilled food in off-premise formats.

“Our customers have come to appreciate that the quality of Mang Inasal’s Ihaw-Sarap meals can be enjoyed both in-store and via takeout, drive-thru, and delivery,” said Castro.

This positive response has encouraged the brand to continue investing in convenience-led channels.

“That we are able to prove that even for grilled food, drive-thru can be a viable additional access point for our customers has inspired us to continually step up our efforts to enhance our customers’ Unli-Saya experience through this touchpoint,” Castro added.

Beyond individual meals, Mang Inasal also continues to promote sharing occasions through offerings such as Family Fiesta meals, allowing families and barkadas to enjoy the brand’s signature Unli-Saya experience wherever they choose to dine.

Ramping up digitalization with purpose

Alongside physical expansion, Mang Inasal continues to invest in digital innovation to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.

The recently revamped Mang Inasal App offers fixed delivery fees with no surge pricing, exclusive promotions, personalized deals, and app-exclusive freebies, making ordering more convenient and rewarding for customers.

The company also utilizes digital tools and artificial intelligence to support marketing initiatives, including content creation, trend monitoring, social listening, campaign optimization, and performance measurement.

“We focus on technologies that genuinely improve engagement, accessibility, operational efficiency, and the overall customer experience rather than adopting trends for the sake of innovation alone,” Castro stressed.

Meeting customers where they are

As consumer preferences continue to evolve, Mang Inasal sees off-premise dining as an important growth driver for the future.

While dine-in remains a core part of the Mang Inasal experience, the brand continues to strengthen its omnichannel approach by providing customers with more ways to enjoy Ihaw-Sarap and Unli-Saya—whether in-store, through takeout, via delivery, or at a drive-thru window.

By combining accessibility, digital innovation, and its well-loved grilled offerings, Mang Inasal remains focused on meeting customers where they are while continuing to serve the flavors they love.
