Titled “Ang Tanging Ina ni Herlene,” the episode pays tribute to the strength, sacrifices, and unwavering devotion of mothers. It will air this Saturday, March 21, featuring Herlene Budol herself as she portrays her own mother’s journey.

Joining her in this special presentation are Jay Arcilla, Anthony Falcon, Kimson Tan, Marife Necesito, Dani Ozaraga, Lhen Timbol, and Juancho Triviño.

The story follows Lhen, an aspiring beauty queen whose life is marked by heartbreak and repeated rejection. Her fate shifts when she meets Ibhe, who later becomes Herlene’s father. However, instead of finding happiness, Lhen is confronted with deeper struggles brought on by Ibhe’s jealousy and lack of stable work.

At just six years old, Herlene experiences a painful turning point when Lhen makes the difficult decision to leave her behind in order to work and support her three other children from a previous relationship. The separation leaves Herlene carrying years of hurt and resentment toward her mother.

Despite this, time and understanding pave the way for healing. Herlene eventually fulfills her mother’s long-cherished dream of becoming a beauty queen when she is crowned Binibining Angono—an achievement that not only marks her personal success but also honors her mother’s sacrifices and mends their fractured bond.

Directed by Mark Sicat Dela Cruz, written by Tina Samson Velasco, and researched by Cynthia Delos Santos, the episode delivers a moving reminder that even the deepest wounds can heal through love, resilience, and time.

Catch Magpakailanman every Saturday at 8:15 p.m. on GMA Network. Viewers worldwide can also watch via GMA Pinoy TV.
