Wickermoss ventures into new musical territory with the release of their latest single, “Sa Wala,” a heartfelt collaboration with Neth Macam, vocalist and keyboardist of fellow OPM band SALA.

Out now on all major digital streaming platforms, the track is produced by Kedy Sanchez and Wickermoss under AltG Records, a subsidiary of GMA Music.

Written by Neth, “Sa Wala” draws from his own college experiences. “I had a mutual understanding with someone, but we never really got anywhere because of past baggage,” he shares, laughing. “I pulled Wickermoss into it so they could be sad with me.”

What began as a deeply personal story soon evolved into something more. When Wickermoss guitarist Rigil Borromeo first heard the song, he immediately imagined it as a dialogue. “It felt like a conversation, with Neth singing a verse, then Allen responding. That back-and-forth gave it a powerful emotional core.”

The track marks a trio of firsts for Wickermoss: their first pop single, their first duet, and their first collaboration with Neth. The band also experimented with unique guitar tunings, lending the song a fresh, textured sound that distinguishes it from their earlier work. The single was arranged by Wickermoss, mixed by Russell delos Santos, with music and lyrics by Neth.

For Wickermoss bassist Roger Alcantara, the song resonates because of its emotional relatability. “Even if you haven’t gone through exactly what Neth did, you’ve probably felt something similar,” he says. Guitarist Reiman Gesmundo adds that it captures the uncertainty and fear of investing in something that might never work out.

Listeners may find themselves drawn to certain lines. For Neth, it’s “Ang puso’y pag-iisipin,” a lyric he fought hard to keep in the final version. “That line was my favorite. I didn’t let them change it.” For Wickermoss’ Allen Lucas, it’s “Kung para lang ‘to sa wala, hindi na kita hihintayin,” a line that quietly captures the song’s ache.

More than just a story of a love that never was, “Sa Wala” is a gentle reminder to keep believing in love despite past pain. As Neth reflects, “No matter what bad experiences you’ve been through, you should still give yourself the chance to love and be loved again.”

Listen to “Sa Wala” by Wickermoss and Neth of SALA now available on all digital streaming platforms. Let it speak to your own stories of almosts, maybes, and what-ifs.
