We often think of mothers as nurturing, gentle, and full of love. But what happens when a mother’s heart has been shaped by years of pain and trauma? This Saturday (May 10), Magpakailanman brings a powerful and unconventional Mother’s Day special that explores the story of a mother whose love was hardened by her past.
Titled “Ang Inang Walang Puso,” the episode stars acclaimed actress Shamaine Buencamino, joined by Ina Feleo, Vaness del Moral, Mikoy Morales, Aya Domingo, Althea Ablan, and Nonie Buencamino.
The story centers on Gloria, a woman who grew up in an abusive household—locked away in darkness, deprived of affection, and taught that love equates to control. Carrying these emotional scars into adulthood, she becomes a mother who rules with strictness and fear, not warmth.
Her husband was the only one who brought out a softer side in her. But after his sudden death, Gloria becomes even more rigid and volatile, unknowingly pushing her children further away. Despite her sacrifices to provide for them, her inability to show gentle love leaves deep wounds.
Is forgiveness possible when the person who should have been your safe space became the source of your pain? And when time steals her memories, will her children find it in their hearts to offer the love she never learned to give?
Directed by Neal Del Rosario, written by Loi Argel Nova, and researched by Karl Angelo Butuan, “Ang Inang Walang Puso” offers a poignant look at the complexities of motherhood, trauma, and healing.
Don’t miss this moving episode—airing this Saturday at 8:15 p.m. on Magpakailanman, only on GMA-7.
