Metallic unibody is becoming the “in” thing for the smartphone manufacturers to give their products premium look and better grip especially to those on the go users. But with the elegant and sophisticated look, price will always go with it and Vivo is one of the smartphones that goes with the call of affordability. Their Vivo V3 is currently on the market with the SRP of Php 9, 990.

The Vivo V3 has a metallic unibody with the 143.6 mm X 71 mm X 7.5 mm and weighs 138 grams. It has 5 inches multi-touch HD display. And because it is unibody it has a non-removable 2550mAh battery. In terms of processor, the unit is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 Octa-core 1.5GHz with interface of Funtouch OS2.5 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop that ensures more personalized features from the nativation, widgets and camera not to mention faster opening of apps and waking the phone from being locked. It has 32 GB internal memory and has external card slot that can accommodate up to 128 GB. It has dual SIM features.

In terms of camera, it has 13MP auto-focus rear and 8MP front cam. Rear camera features include panorama, face beauty, HDR, night mode, motion track, professional (DSLR like), slow-mo, fast (time lapse), voice shutter, touch capture, palm (hand gesture control), timer, gender detection, filter, and watermark. Meanwhile, front camera has night mode, voice shutter, touch capture, palm, timer, gender detection, filter and watermark.

Aside from the professional feature that gives a DSLR approach. Instagram and Snapchat fans will surely love the filter and watermark features whereas they can add filters to their photos with so many choices that are not available in IG and snaps. And for those who love storifying their photos can now automatically add watermarks and stickers before they upload it on their social media account. So instead downloading apps that require purchasing certain features or to fully unlock features, the Vivo V3 has it.

Lastly, it has gesture control to instantly open the app you want to open aside from the finger scan rear feature where you can open the phone with your finger tip in 5 seconds as you raise your phone. It’s more practical and I suggest enrolling your index finger. Packaging includes the unit, jelly case, usb cord, wall charger, earphone, warranty card, user guide and pin to open the SIM and Memory Card slot.

Vivo V3 is available on Vivo concept stores located in SM Light in EDSA, Mandaluyong City and authorized dealers/resellers nationwide.

Record Growth in Participation at IMMAF Youth World Championships in Al Ain Participant numbers surge fivefold, from 200 athletes in 2022 to over 1,000 in 2025 The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation is ramping up final preparations to host the sixth edition of the IMMAF Youth World Championships, which will take place in Al Ain from July 21 to 27. More than 1,000 male and female athletes from 60 countries are set to compete, marking a record number of participants and highlighting the event’s growing global profile. Leading countries taking part include reigning champions Ukraine, as well as the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, the UAE, and Armenia. This year, the championship will be held in Al Ain for the first time, while the UAE continues its role as host for the fourth consecutive year. Participation has surged from 200 athletes in the third edition held in 2022 to over 1,000 this year. The sharp increase confirms the championship’s rising popularity and the UAE’s key role in transforming it into a preferred destination for young talent in mixed martial arts. His Excellency Mohammed Bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation and Chairman of the MMA Committee, said that preparations are progressing according to a comprehensive plan covering all organisational, logistical, and technical aspects. The Federation is working closely with local and international partners to deliver an outstanding edition that reflects the UAE’s reputation for hosting world-class sporting events. “This year’s championship has attracted record participation, reflecting the rapid development of the event and reinforcing its position as a global platform for preparing the future stars of MMA,” Al Dhaheri said. “Bringing the competition to Al Ain marks a significant step forward, building on the successes of previous editions in Abu Dhabi.” Al Dhaheri added that the 2025 edition will offer a well-rounded experience for athletes, delegations, and spectators. Alongside the high-level competition, a range of cultural and entertainment programmes will help cement the championship’s status as a leading international event and a meeting point for emerging talent. Meanwhile, the UAE National Team continues its preparations at a training camp in Thailand, focused on enhancing both physical and technical readiness. The camp aims to ensure the athletes deliver a strong performance that reflects the development of MMA in the UAE and positions them to compete for top honours at the championship
