Focusing on his career, being a husband to Marian Rivera and soon to be a father, are the main reasons why Dingdong Dantes is not running to 2016 election. Few weeks ago, Dingdong’s name became one of the top celebrity contenders that might be included in list of Liberap Party for the 2016 including Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and Vice Mayor of Manila Isko Moreno. Rumors about his interest of running for a political position started when he was appointed as commissioner-at-large of the National Youth Commission (NYC) last 2014.
In the report of PEP.ph, Dantes reiterated his statement that he is not running in the 2016 election. He mentioned that that he’s honored to be considered to be one of the initial drafts for LP but according to him he doesn’t have plans to run because he wanted to focus with his career and to his wife. Aside from that he will become a father soon with their first baby that really excites him.
He also shared that being a commissioner-at-large of NYC is a big responsibility that he need to do. He shared that his role needs commitment and attentions, which according to him adding more responsibility will be hard for him to handle.
