Since yesterday (January 15), mobile users are experiencing “signal problems” on their devices, according to SMART Communications Inc., they are having temporary service suspension in several areas in Metro Manila and nearby areas as requested by the Philippine government in connection with the Papal Visit of Pope Francis in the country. The request is for the security of the Pope where as they having temporary service interruption or service suspension in their SMART, Sun Cellular and Talk ‘n Text in a certain period of time. They also mentioned that it their mobile subscribers might experience this until January 19.

SMART is hoping for the understanding of their subscribers as they comply with the mandate of the government authorities for the interest of public safety.
