It is official! The much awaited return of the iconic Philippine comic book character from the Mars Ravelo’s collection which is Dyesebel will be having her big splash on primetime television now on the Kapamilya network starting March 17. With the new Dyesebel in personality of the multimedia princess Anne Curtis, she will be giving a new approach the journey of the mermaid who dreamed to become a human and find her true love. Directed by Don Cuaresma and Francis Pasion, Dyesebel also stars Gerald Anderson and Sam Milby who will be playing the role of Fredo and Liro respectively.
Dyesebel will be the fifth mermaid to swim on primetime television of ABS-CBN after Marina (Claudine Barretto), Mutya (Mutya Orquia), Aryanna (Ella Cruz) and Dyosa Agua from the TV series Dyosa (Anne). This is Anne’s second mermaid role on TV. Meanwhile in the role Anne joins other local actresses to play the said role including Edna Luna (1953), Vilma Santos (1973), Alma Moreno (1978), Alice Dixson (1990), Charlene Gonzales (1996 and Marian Rivera (2008).
Anne will be joined by stellar cast including Andi Eigenmann, Dawn Zulueta, Eula Valdez, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Ai-Ai de las Alas, Albert Martinez, Bangs Garcia and Gabby Concepcion.
