After his successful entrance to the entertainment industry as Papa Chen in My Binondo Girl and later as Sir Chief in the top rating morning family drama of ABS-CBN entitled Be Careful With My Heart, Richard Yap signs another contract and this time with Star Records. Aside from his on going TV project Be Careful With My Heart with Jodi Sta. Maria and the Be Careful With My Heart the Movie which was recently announced as a 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival Official Entry, Richard will be working on his first ever album under Star Records.
Richard Yap showcased his talent after singing the theme song of Be Careful With My Heart with Jodi Sta. Maria and his dream will finally come true now that Star Records is starting to work on his music album. “Hopefully matanggap ng mga tao ang ambition ko na maging singer,” he enthused. His album will be a combination of English and Tagalog songs and possibly, a Chinese song. It will also be ballad songs and acoustic music.
He was a member of his high school Glee Club. Star Music Group head Roxy Liquigan and Kate Valenzuela (representative of Yap’s manager Deo Endrinal) were present at the star’s contract signing.
