The Star for All Seasons turned public servant Vilma Santos-Recto will now enter her third term as the governor of Batangas after getting a landslide of vote with 660, 800. Vilma has a four to five times advantage against her competitors including Marcos Madanas Sr that only got 41, 780 and Praxedes Bustamante that only got 4, 291. Both Madanas and Bustamante were independent candidate while Vilma is under the Liberal Party.
Meanwhile Vilma Santos Recto’s running mate Mark Leviste secured his vice governor position after getting 597, 267 versus Rommel Arguelles that only got 72, 580 votes. Before she became the governor of Batangas, Vilma was the Mayor of the City of Lipa from 1998 to 2007. Coming from Lakas-Kampi-CMD, she transferred to Liberal Party in 2009 together with her husband Ralph Recto who is currently a Senator in the 15th Congress.
Aside from Vilma Santos-Recto other celebrities who entered the political race include Annabelle Rama, Aga Muhlach, Erap Estrada, Richard Gomez, Alfred Vargas, Herbert Bautista, Angelica Jones, Joey Marquez, Isko Moreno, Lou Veloso, Jolo Revilla, ER Ejercito, Christopher de Leon, Imelda Papin, and Lucy Torres.
