Apple unveils iPhone 5 – what’s your reaction?

In line with the official unveiling of iPhone 5 last September 12 in San Franciso, California, people around the world tuned it to see the features of the most anticipated smartphone from Apple. Unfortunately, the additional features don’t give that “wow” reaction to some of the followers of the product especially because of the alleged leakage and myths that was posted before the launching. So at the end the product is not a shocker for those who tuned in to see the product even it was past midnight in their country.

So to make the story short for those who wants to know the specs of the latest iPhone 5 that will start pre-orders on September 21 in countries including  US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. Meanwhile for other countries like the Philippines it will be available by October or November which I recommend to get it under SMART.

First let’s talk about the design and display; the iPhone 5’s dimension is 4.87 inches (123.8 mm)  x 2.31 inches (58.6 mm) x 0.30 inch (7.6 mm) with the weight of 3.95 ounces (112 grams) making it 18% thinner and 20% lighter compare with the iPhone 4S. It has 4-inch Retina display with 1136-by-640 resolution or 326 pixels per inch (ppi). It is available in two colors Black & Slate and White & Silver giving you that metallic sophisticated feel.

In terms of usability, it answers the longer-battery life request of users which iPhone 5 now has 225 hours standby time, 10 hours on WIFI connection, and 8 hours talk time, 3G or LTE. While for multimedia purpose it has the same features like the 4S having iSight Camera 8 megapixel, autofocus, tap to focus, LED flash, backside illumination sensor, five-element lens, face detection, hybrid IR filter andƒ/2.4 aperture, while Panorama is not a big deal after all App Store offers wide range of panoramic applications that’s compatible to both iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Meanwhile it has a 1.2 MP front camera, 720 HD video and backside illumination sensor that’s good for those who do video-calling through FaceTime. It also has 5 row icons.

Users can still the functionality of Siri as your mobile intelligent assistant. While for accessories from 30-pin connector, iPhone 5 introduces Lightnight a smaller version of the 30-pin that is more convenient to use along with the Apple EarPods that goes with storage travel case for easy keeping. But with the rumor about the near field communication (NFC) technology it is not included on the iPhone 5.

iPhone 5 runs on A6 chip that promises faster process and will be using Nano-SIM. The iPhone 5 will be available in16GB with price $199, 32GB with $299 and 64GB with $399. As of now pre-orders are accepted in countries including US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore by September 21 for other countries it will be by October and November.
