It’s been a year since I unbox and tried a Nokia product, that time it was Nokia N8 and now I had the chance to try the Nokia Lumia 800, one of the Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango powered smartphone of Nokia. Unlike the usual Nokia packaging before that it comes with a bigger box now it goes around 10 x 5 inches box and more compact which is part of their CSR campaign. Included with the Nokia Lumia 800 unit in the box are: Nokia Fast USB Charger AC-16, Nokia Charging and Data Cable CA-185CD, Nokia Stereo Headset WH-902, Soft cover, color match to phone, Quick Guide, User Guide and Product information leaflet.
The Nokia Lumia 800 is available in four stylish colors; Black, White, Blue and Pink. Its actual dimension is 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm and weighs 142 grams. With 3.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen that has 16M colors you can actually enjoy clear and detailed images from your multimedia content. Expect exceptional damage resistance to the drops, bumps, and scrapes of everyday use with Lumia 800 because of the Corning Gorilla Glass that is in its screen.
In terms of multimedia, with its 8 megapixel Carl Zeiss Optics camera with 2.2 aperture, 3 x digital zoom and dual LED flash, you can capture clearer images and video that is worth sharing on your social media accounts like Twitter and Facebook. With touch to focus and capture in a single tap you can capture images faster with different exposures like sepia, black and white and others and also auto and manual white balance settings that can easily adjust in both indoor and outdoor shooting. While on video recording, Nokia Lumia 800 offers 1280 x 720 resolutions with 30 frames per second and 3x digital zoom in.
Being a smartphone, Nokia Lumia 800 offers social media and email on the go where it offers email solutions where you can connect and sync your email accounts to your mobile email. Accounts can be sync on the device includes Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Nokia Email, Hotmail and Windows Live. For others who are into social media, users can enjoy Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and others which are free to download on the App Center of Nokia. It also has document reader and editor where owners especially read PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files and edit it.
Nokia Lumia 800 uses MicroSIM card to connect to network and send/receives call and sms. It is 3G and WiFi capable and only had 16 GB mass memory which means it doesn’t have external memory slot. It has Nokia Lumia Battery BV-5JW 3.7V 1450mAh that can 9.5 hours of maximum talk time and 3x on standby. Other features included are FM Radio, Nokia Map, Nokia Drive, GPS, Bing Maps and Nokia Contacts Transfer.
