It is directed by Brad Peyton, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is the sequel to the 2008 film Journey to the Center of the Earth and introduces a more mature Josh Hutcherson that was part of the cast with Brandon Fraser.
Journey 2: The Mysterious Island brings back Sean Anderson (Hutcherson) to another journey to a mystical world now with his step father Hank Parsons (Johnson). Bringing Kailani (Hudgens) and Gabato (Guzmán) the owner of the helicopter they used to their journey they discovered that Sean’s grandfather Alexander (Caine) is still alive and working a research a mysterious island where they accidentally landed. At first, the island offers them wonderful things that is hard to explain until it became hostile to them and the only way to survive is to escape.
The film offers a kind of viewing experience that everyone will not forget especially with the 3D and IMAX features to highlight special effects more and the wonder of visual effects to make it more real. I had seen the prequel and seeing the second installment that is more vibrant and sharp it gives that wonderful cinematic experience that both kids and kids at heart will really love. The film is fully fictional and plain that it doesn’t need to discuss deeper, the only thing I can say is that it gives that fun and realistic approach in every details needed on a make believe world that we also wanted to be in and try that adrenalin rushed adventure.
