From comic strips, television and now Android and Apple application, the Peanuts Gang that we love is now on stage and here in thePhilippinesas 9Works Theatrical Present Your’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. The musical presentation will be staged at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium inRCBCPlaza,MakatiCityon February 11 to March 3, 2012. Directed by veteran actor and director Michael Williams, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown showcases actors that really dreams of doing this musical including Robbie Guevarra, Carla Guevarra-Laforteza, Lorenz Martinez, Franco Laurel, Tonipet Gaba and Sweet Plantado-Tiongson.
You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown gives voices to every children which we used to be and shares simple hopes and dreams. What I like most with the Peanuts Gang is the way the acted as adults and talk like adults. They have own issues about themselves, simple insecurities and argument with others that will really give a good laugh to all the viewers. Robbie Guevarra will be playing the role of Charlie Brown, a very naïve and hopeless romantic character who had a crush in one of the girls in their area. Guevarra-Laforteza is playing Lucy, the crabby and bossy member of the Peanuts Gang who actually has a Psychiatric Help Booth where she offers psychiatric service for only 5 cents and one of her patrons is Charlie.
Franco Laurel is playing Linus (with alternate on selected shows – Toff de Venecia), the blanket-toting kid who have crush to Sally and the brother of Lucy. TV host, foodie and now returning to theater Tonipet Gaba will be playing the role of sensitive piano-playing kid named Schroeder who is considered as one of the bestfriends of Charlie next to Linus. Schroeder. While playing of Sally,the younger sister of Charlie and has crush with Linus is The Company member named Sweet Plantado-Tiongson who was the Musical Director of 9 Works during the Sweet Charity performance.
Lastly, Lorenz Martinez is doing the role of Snoopy, the lovable dog of Charlie Brown. There are so many exciting things that everyone anticipate with Snoopy including the Flying Ace.
