Meralco relaunches a more customer-friendly website

In line with the demands of their costumers for efficient and innovative services online, Meralco relaunches a more customer-oriented website to cater their needs and also to introduce the company with its core values, history and corporate social responsibility. With a new tagline, Ang Liwanag ang Bukas, Meralco brings new projects that will make things easy for their subscriber like finding ways on how to use electricity efficiently and to get information faster through the use of social media.

The Meralco website (http://meralco.com.ph) is divided into two parts; The Company and For Customers.

The Company section contains information about Meralco and its subsidiaries. It includes the history of the company, where Meralco was born in 1903 with original name Manila Electric Railroad and Light Company. Up to date the company is already serving 4.8 million residential, commercial and industrial customers. In 2011, Meralco was awarded with Best in Asia on Corporate Governance and Best Investor Relation by Corporate Governance Asia.

The section also inform its visitors about the corporate social responsibility of the company with the arm One Meralco Foundation and also a career section for those who wanted to join the Meralco famy.

While on the Customers section, it gives a better opportunity for the Meralco clients to know updates on maintenance schedules that results to brownouts, have a copy of the bills online, know details of electricity refunds, and also understand proper electricity use and consumptions.

Meralco also uses different platforms and devices like the tablets, personal computers, mobile and laptops. With these devices everyone can easily access the website through internet and access their accounts anytime and anywhere they need. They also created mobile applications which they call Meralco Appliance Calculator that can be downloaded to android and symbian phones. It is also available to Blackberry, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. This application is free.

For those who are into social networks  Meralco has Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/meralco), Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/meralco) and Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/meralcoph) accounts to reach more and to give updates as possible. Meralco also has a hotline – 16211, it serves customers concerns on repair and reports and new applications.
