As Sony believes in the talent of the youth they conducted a competition in Asian countries including the Philippines in search for the next best university musical act and will bring home big prizes and Sony products. The audition started in Centro Escolar University in Manila last September 9, followed by the University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City last Sept. 13, De La Salle University in Taft, Manila last Sept. 14 and there will be more open auditions in Lyceum of the Philippines in Intramuros, Manila on Sept. 20 and Far Eastern University in Manila on Sept. 29. The students will be performing one song and it will be recorded by the Sony team and will be uploaded online where everyone can vote through liking. For others who cannot join the on-ground audition can record their audition video and upload it on the Sony Philippines Facebook page from Sept 15 – Oct 15, while voting begins on Oct 1-15 so start posting your video and get a chance to get more votes.
Last Sept. 13, I had the chance to witness the audition of the Like Performing, Love Sony in UP and all the Isko and Iska showed their best hoping to gather more votes online. Aside from singing with the minus one, some of the students did acapella and dance moves to add more excitement to their performance.
From all the audition videos that will be uploaded at the Sony Philippines Facebook Page, Ten will emerge with the most number of likes where they will get prizes from Sony. And from the 10, judges will be selecting the top 3 based from quality of performance, style and creativity and over-all entertainment factor. The top 3 will be getting US$500 for the third prize, US$1000 for second prize, and US$2, 000, VAIO E Series, Cyber-shot DSC-WX7/Silver, Musician Recorder PCM-M10, MicroVault Tiny USM-16GM, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc for the first prize winner. The first prize winner will also join the Year End Party of Sony in Singapore with round trip airfare and accommodation and will be competing with the rest of the Sony winners from other countries to winning bigger prizes.
