Clothes reflects what’s inside of us

In terms of clothing, I am a kind of person who doesn’t buy expensive clothes. I am very much comfortable with my usual cotton and cheap clothes that I bought from department stores, sometimes in ukay ukay that I end up mixing and matching with my other clothes to fit and some movie t-shirts that was given to me. But the only thing I could say about the clothes I wear is that it is reflects my ideals, emotions and belief.

My red t-shirt that I wore in Pahiyas. Thanks to Alex Dizon for taking a picture of me

I am one of those who wear red clothes on a Monday and black on the last day work, which is Friday or Saturday depending on my schedule. If you have the chance to see my closet there are only 5 colors you will see and that is black, brown, blue, red, and green. Wait I have some few whites by the way that I rarely use because I am scared that I will attract more dirt on in rather that my dark color clothes because of my clumsiness.

Like what I say it reflects my emotions, belief and ideals. Most of my t-shirts either has images of food like halo halo which was my favorite, statement t-shirts that hopes for positive outcome from a negative perspective, a t-shirt that suggest I rather stay in bed rather than go to a meeting and a t-shirt that encourages the heroic side of us. Of course, being proud Filipino, I have I Am Pinoy t-shirt, Pinoy with a check on it, and t-shirts that has Philippine map on it.

Born to be a Hero, was the t-shirt I wore my my pictorial in Orange Magazine for the Coca Cola Live Positively campaign

But among the t-shirts I love so much was the t-shirt was given to me by an international organization which I supported for almost 3 years already. This t-shirt was delivered from Rome, Italy as a token for my support to the We FeedBack campaign of the United Nations World Food Program. It was given to me last year and most of the blogging activities; I make sure that is part of my clothing options.

The WeFeedBack t-shirt that World Food Programme gave me

Clothes are the extension of what I believe and what my mood of the day. For others they might be thinking it’s a girl thing when we say our clothes reflect our mind, heart and soul. But we don’t know, unconsciously even for men, we end up wearing dark clothes with loud prints to show our anger or rebel side, maybe a white suggest the praying side of us, or red because we are in love. Next time you check your closet like what I always do wear something that best describe your feelings rather that what others might want you to wear. It is easy to move on clothes we really reflects our mood or belief on a particular day rather than wearing something that is not you.

i’m almost always wearing black. not because i’m an emo, punk rocker, mourning, or mysterious whatsoever. it is utilitarian that’s why i like it. i find it classy and classic, not to mention timeless, no matter how it looks or how it’s put on. don’t get me wrong, a lot of my stuff are yellow, green and pink. i look great in red but i refuse to wear that color. i love yellow but i don’t rock that color because it turns me dull. i guess black is my one signature color.

like you, comfy for me ang t-shirt and jeans.

I also like dark colors gaya ng black, indigo, brown and gray. but lately, i try nadagdagan na rin naman ng orange and green. may iba rin naman na kulay pero napakaunti.

for me, even you are just wearing casual dress iba yong level of your confidence if you’re comfortable with your clothes.

in designs sometimes i like plain but with small twists and accessories and statement t-shirts.

I am better in purple and green because my skin looks lighter. But I also prefer black, dark blue, or brown because I look thinner.

Mine being in the corporate I always have a combination of strong colors and light ones. but when i go out to events or weekend, i choose light colors more to indulge my senses into a “feel good” mode. Mostly red, blue or white.

It great to wear advocacy work shirts especially when you are part of it. Makes the shirt more meaningful and memorable.
