The story is simple to grasps and graphics is totally awesome, this is how I describe Warner Bros Pictures latest animated 3D movie entitled Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole that will be shown in all cinemas beginning September 24. The film is available in both 3D and regular format and directed by Zack Snyder. It is based from the best selling children’s novel Kathryn Lasky entitled Guardians of Ga’Hoole.

The movie follows the journey of Soren (Jim Sturgess) in search for the “guardians” after escaping from the claws of the “pure ones” who plans to rule over the winged creatures especially the owls. With his friends whom he met in his journey will battle the leader of the pure ones, Nyra (Helen Mirren) and her husband MetalBeak.

What beautiful in the movie is that it doesn’t complicates the story or no changes at all from where it was based, the idea and heart of the story was perfectly sealed. In this way children who enjoys reading the novel of Lansky gets the full visual at run of the story the way they had read it. Complication meaning the movie adaptation doesn’t add more long scenes to make the flow of the story to be beefy instead its fast and simple.

It’s worth watching on 3D simply because of the details of each characters and the visuals is perfectly executed except for one thing, barn owls like Soren has full black eyes unlike what is shown in the film that it has brown/black iris on the green/blue cornea. I think the reason why the creators of the film wanted to do that is they wanted to add emotions through the eyes of each character rather than the black dull eyes which it may not appeal to the younger viewers. Finally, the execution of the scenes and the sounds adds to the emotions that the story is showing and it really gives excitement to those who watch it. So I suggest to those who is reading this blog to check out the film during its run especially on 3D iMAX.

The film features the voices of Jim Sturgess (Soren), Geoffrey Rush (Ezylryb), Emily Barclay (Gylfie), Jay Laga’aia (Twilight), Helen Mirren (Nyra), David Wenham (Digger), Ryan Kwanten (Kludd) and Emilie de Ravin (Eglantine) and it will be shown in all cinemas nationwide, both on 3D and regular format beginning September 24. The 3D animated film is distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.
