Join the Rock the Riles 2009

This Sunday December 6 until December 8, 2pm we will rock and show our stand on issues concerning our society, as 8 Metro Rail Transit (MRT) stations will host simulatenous gigs with more than 120 bands participating, and performing on platforms or beside turnstiles.

With the help of Rock Ed Philippines who is working for 5 years to make Filipino private citizen more aware and gain interest with civic issues and social concerns. Starting on Sunday December 6 until December 8 Rock Ed launches the campaign Rock the Riles 2009. 8 MRT station will have 8 gigs performing simultaneously as 8 stations represents the 8 Millennium Development Goals of United Nation:

Taft Station – Eradication of Poverty and Hunger
Quezon Avenue – Universal Primary Education
Shaw Boulevard Station – Gender Equality
North Station – Child Mortality
Boni Station – Maternal Health
Buendia Station – Combat and prevention of AIDS, Malaria and other diseases
Cubao Station – Sustainable Environment
Ayala Station – Global Relation

* Stations is sorted according to hierarchy of the UN MDGs.

Including with this campaign Rock Ed joins the Filipinos in seeking justice for the death of media men, human rights layers and civilians in Maguindanao. Donations will be accepted and it will be given to family of the murdered innocents of the Maguindanao Massacre.

We are inviting you to take part in campaign show our leaders and the world though our voice and by wearing black that enough is enough we should fight and take actions issues concerning ourselves, our fellow Filipinos and the country.
