The IdeaFirst Company’s theater arm, IdeaFirst Live, has unveiled its 2027–2028 season, featuring three major productions: Die Beautiful: The Musical, Victorina, and Teorya ng mga Tanong. Announced on October 25, the upcoming lineup celebrates original Filipino storytelling through diverse theatrical experiences featuring some of the country’s most celebrated performers and creative talents.

Opening the season in June 2027 at the Proscenium Theater, Die Beautiful: The Musical reimagines the internationally acclaimed film about beauty, identity, resilience, and chosen family. Directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio, with a new book and lyrics co-written by Jun Robles Lana and Elmer Gatchalian, the musical features Audie Gemora, Karylle, Esang de Torres, Maxie Andreison, Viñas Deluxe, Lance Reblando, and Chamyto.

In October 2027, award-winning actress Eugene Domingo returns to the stage in Victorina, a new play written by Jun Robles Lana and directed by Chris Martinez. Inspired by Doña Victorina, the infamous social climber from José Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, the biting comedy places the character at the center of a story that challenges conventions and reimagines her place in Philippine literary history.

Set to premiere in March 2028, Teorya ng mga Tanong reunites Romnick Sarmenta, Elijah Canlas, and Epy Quizon following their celebrated performances in About Us But Not About Us. In a meta-theatrical twist, the actors step into the world of the controversial novel their characters once debated. Written by Jun Robles Lana and directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio, the production explores the boundaries between fiction and reality.

IdeaFirst Live also teased a fourth original production currently in development, promising an unconventional theatrical experience that will challenge both the stories presented onstage and the way audiences engage with them.

Alongside its season announcement, IdeaFirst Live introduced THE FIRST LIST, a new audience membership program offering priority ticket booking, exclusive previews, special invitations, and other privileges. Registration opens on October 25 at the event venue and through The IdeaFirst Company’s official website, theideafirstcompany.com.

With its 2027–2028 season, IdeaFirst Live marks another step in its continuing evolution, expanding beyond film-to-stage adaptations to develop distinctive theatrical experiences that showcase Filipino creativity, talent, and original storytelling.

To date, The IdeaFirst Company has staged award-winning films, including Anino sa Likod ng Buwan at the PETA Theater in 2025 with one re-run, and About Us But Not About Us in 2026 with a re-run at the Power Mac Center Spotlight Blackbox Theater.
