Consumers have become increasingly conscious of what goes into their skincare products, from checking ingredients to choosing formulas suited to their specific needs. That same awareness is now extending to haircare, with more people looking beyond immediate results and paying closer attention to how products affect the health and condition of their hair.
A 2025 study published by the Journal of the Korean Society of Cosmetology found that consumers’ perceptions of haircare products containing natural extracts can influence their purchasing behavior, reflecting growing interest in the ingredients behind the products they use. But understanding haircare goes beyond reading labels. It also starts with understanding the hair itself.
This was among the topics discussed during the Philippines visit of Tints of Nature Managing Directors Vicki Borley and Katharine Crew. Asian hair cannot be defined by a single texture or structure.
