Long before Ice Seguerra became known for his distinctive voice and heartfelt performances, he was a young performer captivated by musical theater. Now, he is returning to the songs that first inspired him with “Ice Sings! An Intimate Concert Series — Part I: Broadway & Disney,” happening on November 6 and 7, 2026, at the Music Museum.
Seguerra’s love for musicals began early, introduced to the genre by his mother through films such as “The Sound of Music” and “West Side Story.” At seven, while taking voice lessons at the UP College of Music, he performed “Part of Your World” from “The Little Mermaid” during his recital, a memory he now looks back on with fondness.
His stage journey continued with Repertory Philippines, where he appeared in “Little Shop of Horrors” and played Dorothy in “The Wiz.” He later took on roles in productions including “The Rocky Horror Show,” “Avenue Q,” and “Rock of Ages,” further developing his craft as both a singer and actor.
For Seguerra, musical theater offers a unique space where these two sides of his artistry meet. “Hindi lang siya tungkol sa pagkanta. You have to know what the character wants, what the song means, and why that moment matters,” he shares, emphasizing how understanding a character and the story behind a song can shape a performance.
That approach will guide “Ice Sings!,” an intimate concert series built around Seguerra’s personal connection to the songs he performs. For its first installment, he will explore music from Broadway productions and Disney films, featuring songs about love, courage, belonging, and finding the freedom to become one’s true self.
“These songs shaped me growing up—as a singer, an actor, and a person,” Seguerra says. “I’m excited to sing them now as the person I’ve become.”
