Nicole Laurel Asensio is set to give audiences an intimate look into her life as a songwriter with “Songwriter,” a special one-night performance on September 19 at 7 p.m. at the newly opened second-floor space of 78 Salcedo in Salcedo Village, Makati.
For two decades, Asensio has performed across 16 countries and explored a wide range of genres, including rock, jazz, classical, soul, and blues. A multi-awarded performer and recording artist, she has graced countless stages, but “Songwriter” offers a more personal experience that goes beyond the personas audiences have come to know.
Described as a journey from “songwriter to audience,” the performance strips the music down to its essentials, creating a space where Asensio can share the stories, emotions, and creative process behind her work.

Over one intimate evening, she will perform 20 songs selected from hundreds of compositions written throughout her career. The first set, “Pen to Performance,” features 10 songs released over the past decade, presented in more intimate and reimagined arrangements.
The second set, “Unspoken and Unseen,” explores a more personal side of her songwriting through spoken word, unfinished compositions, fragments of ideas, and reimagined pieces that audiences may not know were written by Asensio.
The performance coincides with the official opening weekend of the new second-floor space at 78 Salcedo, a larger venue designed to accommodate bigger performances while preserving an intimate atmosphere that encourages presence and attentive listening.
“Songwriter” takes place on September 19 at 7 p.m. at 78-45-33 San Agustin Street, Salcedo Village, Makati. For seat reservations, call 0917 597 6661. From pen to performance and from the unseen to the finally heard, Asensio invites audiences to come closer and experience the songs in their most personal form.
