A beloved character from the Die Beautiful universe is set to shine onstage as Lance Reblando and Chamyto are officially announced to share the role of Barbs in the highly anticipated Die Beautiful: The Musical.

Known for being Trisha Echeverria’s fiercely loyal best friend, Barbs has become one of the most memorable characters in the franchise, with each performer bringing a distinct interpretation to the role.

In the original 2016 film Die Beautiful, Cedrick Juan was initially cast as Barbs before the role was eventually played by Christian Bables. Years later, Christian was set to reprise the character in the spin-off Born Beautiful, but the role was ultimately portrayed by Martin del Rosario.

Both Christian and Martin went on to receive major recognition for their performances as Barbs. Christian earned awards from the Gawad Urian, Luna Awards, and the Metro Manila Film Festival, while Martin received an Asian Television Award for his portrayal. Cedrick, meanwhile, would later become a Best Actor winner for Gomburza.

Now, as Die Beautiful transitions from film to theater, the legacy of Barbs continues with two new performers bringing their own energy, humor, and heart to the stage.

Fresh from her acclaimed performance as Julia in PETA’s revival of Walang Aray, Lance Reblando brings her strong stage presence and versatility in both comedy and drama to the role.

Sharing the role is Chamyto, who currently stars as Bambi in GMA’s primetime series The Master Cutter. He brings his unique humor, charisma, and screen presence to his interpretation of Barbs.

Selected through a rigorous audition process, Reblando and Chamyto will offer audiences two different yet equally compelling versions of the character who has become an essential part of Trisha’s journey.

They join previously announced stars Maxie Andreison and Viñas Deluxe, who will alternate in the role of Trisha Echeverria.

Based on the acclaimed film, Die Beautiful: The Musical brings Trisha’s story to the stage as a celebration of friendship, chosen family, identity, resilience, and the courage to embrace one’s true self.

The musical is written by Jun Robles Lana and Elmer Gatchalian, with music by Vince Lim and direction by Tuxqs Rutaquio. The production is set to open in June 2027 at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell, Makati.
