beIN SPORTS, the leading sports broadcaster in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has announced record-breaking viewership figures for its coverage of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 (AFCON 2025), marking the most-watched edition of the tournament in the network’s history. Across television and digital platforms, the tournament attracted more than 3.45 billion cumulative viewers, reflecting unprecedented engagement with African football across the region.

Held from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, the month-long competition delivered 1.75 billion cumulative TV viewers, a 127 percent increase from 770 million in 2023. The final, played on Sunday 18 January in Rabat, saw Senegal defeat hosts Morocco 1–0 after extra time to secure their second AFCON title in five years, with 97.3 million viewers across beIN SPORTS’ 24 MENA markets watching Pape Gueye’s decisive goal—up from 33.2 million viewers for the 2023 final, a 193 percent rise in final-match viewership.

While the final drew record audiences, the tournament’s most-watched match was the Group B encounter between Egypt and Zimbabwe, as Mohamed Salah’s injury-time winner in a dramatic 2–1 victory attracted a live audience of 98.3 million viewers on beIN SPORTS. The tournament featured 24 national teams, including five Arab sides and seven teams already qualified for this summer’s FIFA World Cup, driving sustained interest throughout the competition.

beIN SPORTS’ digital and social coverage also reached unprecedented levels. Across Facebook, X, and YouTube, 12.66 million viewers watched live match broadcasts, with a further 1.06 million tuning in via beIN CONNECT, while total social media engagements climbed to 133.4 million and cumulative video views surged to 1.68 billion, doubling from 846 million in 2023. Commenting on the achievement, Mohammad Al-Subaie, CEO of beIN MENA, said the live and exclusive coverage of AFCON Morocco 2025 once again demonstrated the immense appetite for African football in the MENA region and reaffirmed beIN as its true home, adding that the record television audiences and exceptional digital engagement reflected the strength of the network’s coverage and the dedication of its teams to bringing fans closer to the game, while reinforcing beIN’s commitment to enhancing the viewer experience and further elevating African football for audiences across the region and beyond.

beIN SPORTS has broadcast the Africa Cup of Nations since 2008, establishing one of the longest-running partnerships with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in the MENA region. For AFCON 2025, the network delivered live and exclusive coverage of all 52 matches across its beIN SPORTS MAX channels, offering comprehensive trilingual broadcasts in Arabic, English, and French, underlining its central role in bringing Africa’s premier football tournament to audiences across the region.
