I’mPerfect is an upcoming Philippine romance film written and directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo and is set for theatrical release on December 25, 2025, as one of the official entries in the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival. Produced by Nathan Studios, the film breaks new ground in Philippine cinema by centering on the love story of two adults with Down syndrome, portrayed by lead actors Earl Jonathan Amaba and Anne Krystel Daphne Go, who both have Down syndrome themselves, underscoring the production’s commitment to authenticity and inclusivity.

The film follows Jiro and Jessica as they discover love, independence, and connection while navigating life’s challenges, exploring themes of acceptance, dignity, and the power of human relationships. Supporting the lead pair is a distinguished ensemble cast that includes Sylvia Sanchez as Jessica’s mother, Janice de Belen, Joey Marquez, Lorna Tolentino, who also served as co-producer, Tonton Gutierrez as Jiro’s father, Zaijian Jaranilla, and Bea Mendoza.

I’mPerfect has been in development for over a decade, with the story first pitched in 2010 and completed in 2018 before production delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project was officially adopted by Nathan Studios in 2024, followed by an extensive audition process and actor workshops to prepare the cast for their roles. Filming took place in various locations across Mindanao, including Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, and Claveria, Misamis Oriental. To ensure an accurate and respectful portrayal of people with Down syndrome, the production collaborated closely with the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines, Best Buddies Philippines, and Special Olympics Pilipinas.

As an MMFF 2025 entry, I’mPerfect aims to touch audiences with its heartfelt storytelling while challenging stereotypes and promoting greater representation on screen. The film invites viewers to see beyond limitations and celebrate the universal truth that everyone is capable of love, growth, and a full life.
