Jem Macatuno brings a fresh, soothing take to “Kumpas” as the official theme song of the blockbuster film “Meet, Greet & Bye.”
His version has received warm praise from viewers who watched the lyric video on the ABS-CBN Star Music YouTube channel, many highlighting the sincerity and gentle emotion in his vocals. Some shared how the rendition matched the film perfectly, with several admitting it moved them to tears after watching the movie.
Jem, who first gained attention on “The Voice Teens” Season 1 and later as a housemate on “Pinoy Big Brother: Otso,” continues to establish himself as one of StarPop’s standout young artists. His past releases include his original track “EDSA” and his remake of “Ikaw ang Aking Mahal.”
“Kumpas,” originally composed by Moira dela Torre and Jason Marvin Hernandez, was first used as the theme song for the ABS-CBN series “2 Good 2 Be True.” Jem’s interpretation now brings the song into a new cinematic chapter.
