For 26 years, Unang Hirit (UH) has been the country’s trusted morning companion, delivering early news, fresh energy, and genuine public service to millions of Filipinos. As it marks its 26th anniversary, the call rings louder than ever: Gising na, Unang Hirit na!
UH has always been more than a wake-up show. It helps wake the nation to issues that matter, from corruption to everyday community concerns. And this year’s celebration comes bigger, bolder, and more exciting.
To mark the milestone, UH’s 26th anniversary also kicks off its Christmas season. It is officially the first day of Christmas on Unang Hirit, setting the tone for a week filled with holiday joy.

UH starts its 26th year with major surprises, including unexpected guests and new hostmates. The show has already welcomed fresh faces this year, and on its anniversary, even more stars will join the morning lineup. Different personalities and different energies will bring a new kind of excitement viewers will not see coming.
Leading up to the anniversary, UH has been rolling out meaningful Sorpresa Projects, real and transparent efforts that directly help communities. These include Project Full Tank, which gave free fuel to tricycle drivers, and Project Free Palengke, where everything in the market was free.
For its 26th year, the surprises get even bigger with PASKO PROJECT, a special Christmas initiative for Cebu residents affected by Bagyong Tino. With many families still in evacuation centers and unsure how they will celebrate the holidays, the project aims to bring them warmth, joy, and a true sense of Christmas. There is also another upcoming surprise involving a remote control.

Because it is the holiday season, viewers can expect feel-good Christmas Serye segments. The series continues in Baguio, sharing stories of family, comfort, and the magic of Christmas from the country’s Summer Capital.
UH viewers should prepare for more surprises and prizes. Tune in every weekday morning and celebrate 26 remarkable years with the UH barkada. Gising na… Unang Hirit na!
Catch Unang Hirit weekdays at 5:30 a.m. on GMA. Global Pinoys can watch via GMA Pinoy TV.
