LG Philippines has strengthened its longstanding partnership with the National Museum of Fine Arts through the donation of LG PuriCare™ Dehumidifiers, advancing a shared commitment to preserving the nation’s cultural legacy. Installed across key galleries, these state-of-the-art units maintain precise humidity levels to protect priceless artworks and artifacts.

Museums are more than spaces for exhibition; they are carefully controlled environments where even subtle shifts in temperature or humidity can threaten centuries-old masterpieces. Excess moisture can lead to warping, mold growth, and pigment deterioration. By stabilizing indoor conditions, LG’s advanced dehumidifiers play a vital role in ensuring the longevity of irreplaceable collections and enhancing the museum’s climate regulation systems.

Each LG PuriCare™ Dehumidifier brings together performance, reliability, and ease of use. Powered by Dual Inverter Compressor technology, the units provide faster and more efficient moisture removal while consuming less energy. UVnano™ technology keeps the water tank hygienic by minimizing bacterial growth, while ultra-quiet 33dB operation allows conservation work to continue undisturbed. The dehumidifiers also feature ergonomic handles, smooth-glide wheels, continuous drainage options, and smart connectivity through the LG ThinQ™ app, enabling real-time monitoring and remote control.

According to Mr. Nakhyun Seong, Managing Director of LG Philippines, the initiative is part of LG’s mission to use technology for cultural preservation. He shared, “LG is proud to help preserve the nation’s cultural treasures. Through this donation, we’re creating the right environment for protecting priceless artworks. It’s a privilege to support institutions that celebrate Filipino identity and creativity. Life’s Good when history, heritage, and innovation come together.”

At the heart of the National Museum of Fine Arts lies the story of the Filipino spirit, embodied in masterpieces like Juan Luna’s Spoliarium, alongside works by National Artists Fernando Amorsolo, Félix Resurrección Hidalgo, and Benedicto Cabrera. To protect these icons, LG PuriCare™ Dehumidifiers, each capable of removing up to 30 liters of moisture per day, now work quietly in the background, defending against the effects of time, climate, and decay.

Jeremy R. Barns, Director-General of the National Museum of the Philippines, emphasized the importance of environmental control in art preservation. He explained that “Spoliarium is the most iconic work of art in the Philippines. When it won the gold medal in Madrid in 1884, it inspired José Rizal and generations after him. Protecting it means preserving a piece of our national identity.”

He further noted that humidity remains one of the museum’s biggest challenges. “Fluctuations in temperature and moisture can severely damage fragile works—paintings, wood, and canvas alike. LG’s dehumidifiers give us the control we need to protect these materials and ensure they endure,” he said.

With LG’s cutting-edge humidity control now deployed throughout the galleries, the National Museum is better equipped to safeguard its masterpieces, from Spoliarium to Sabel and beyond. More than a donation, this initiative marks the continued evolution of the partnership between LG and the National Museum, rooted in a shared dedication to conservation and education.

Barns reflected, “Our partnership with LG has evolved from digital displays that helped us tell our stories to technology that now protects them. Together, we ensure that these works will continue to inspire generations to come.”

To support the arts is to protect the nation’s soul. Through its meaningful contributions, LG continues to uphold Filipino art, culture, and history, keeping them visible, vibrant, and alive for the future.

Because when art and heritage are protected, Life’s Good.
