Mang Inasal, the Philippines’ Grill Expert, has officially reopened its very first store at Robinsons Place Iloilo. The refreshed branch now showcases Mang Inasal’s new 5G (fifth generation) store design, a future-ready concept blending heritage, innovation, and digital convenience.

The blessing and relaunch took place on August 31, 2025, with Mang Inasal President Mike V. Castro, brand ambassador Coco Martin, and Iloilo City Vice Mayor Love Baronda leading the celebration. The grand reopening followed on September 1, honoring the city that gave birth to one of the country’s most beloved restaurant brands.

Founded by Edgar “Injap” Sia II in Iloilo, Mang Inasal has grown from a single local eatery into one of the Philippines’ most successful homegrown food brands. Today, with over 570 stores nationwide and the backing of the Jollibee Group, it is known for its signature Chicken Inasal, Unli-Rice offering, and iconic Ihaw-Sarap dining experience.

“This store represents the heart and soul of Mang Inasal,” said Castro. “From our very first grilled chicken to the millions we serve today, this reopening is both a tribute to our beginnings and a bold step into the future.”

The new 5G store design features a more efficient kitchen layout, an upgraded Takeout Express counter, the brand’s first-ever Cashless Express Kiosk, and the Mang Inasal Heritage Wall, a centerpiece honoring the brand’s Iloilo roots. The redesign reflects Mang Inasal’s commitment to creating a faster, smarter, and more seamless dining experience while staying true to its heritage.

The reopening celebration also featured a Dinagyang-inspired performance and a special number from the Don Bosco Boys Home Choir, highlighting Mang Inasal’s close connection with the local community.

As Mang Inasal returns to where it all began, it renews its promise to deliver Unli-Saya (unlimited fun) experiences whether through dine-in, takeout, drive-thru, or delivery. From its Iloilo roots to its nationwide success, Mang Inasal continues to serve more than just grilled chicken; it serves a story of Filipino pride, innovation, and the flavorful journey of a true national icon.
