Netflix’s upcoming Korean thriller As You Stood By will stream globally on November 7, following its selection for the prestigious On Screen section at the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

Based on Hideo Okuda’s acclaimed novel Naomi & Kanako, the series tells the gripping story of two women whose lives are pushed to the breaking point. Eun-su (Jeon So-nee), a capable VIP luxury handler at a department store, struggles with trauma from her childhood, when she witnessed her father’s violence toward her mother. Her best friend Hui-su (Lee You-mi), once a promising children’s book writer, now lives under the suffocating control of an abusive husband.
When Eun-su discovers the extent of Hui-su’s suffering, the two women make a desperate decision: they will kill Hui-su’s husband to reclaim their freedom and peace. Their choice sets off a tense chain of events that blurs the line between justice and survival.
Directed by Lee Jeong-lim (VIP, The Revenant), As You Stood By explores themes of friendship, resilience, and moral reckoning. The newly released teaser intensifies the suspense, revealing Jin-pyo (Jang Seung-jo), the violent husband who continues to terrorize the women, and Jin So-baek (Lee Mu-saeng), a mysterious market CEO who seems to be watching everything unfold.
What awaits the two women at the end of this dangerous path? As You Stood By premieres November 7 on Netflix following its world premiere at BIFF.
