“Superman,” directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet, hits cinemas worldwide on July 9, 2025.
The film marks DC Studios’ first feature in the new DC universe, blending epic action, humor, and heart to bring a compassionate Superman who believes in the goodness of humanity. Gunn directs from his own screenplay, based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
David Corenswet stars as Superman/Clark Kent, alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and a supporting cast featuring Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, and others.
Produced by Peter Safran and James Gunn, with Gunn’s regular collaborators, Superman will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures and distributed in IMAX.
